A local florist delivers flowers in Dolany nad Vltavou

Dolany nad Vltavou lies on the left bank of the Vltava, about 3 km south-east of Kralupy, and comprises the parts of Dolany and Debrno. The first mention of the municipality dates to 1318. The municipality-run primary school is on Ke Škole Street in a building where teaching has taken place since 1885, and it also has an after-school club. The municipality-run Sluníčko nursery is on Ke Školce Street.

The Dolany weir on the Vltava, with the Dolánky navigation locks on the opposite bank, is operated by Povodí Vltavy; the structure was built in 1901. Debrno, a part of the municipality with a village conservation area, has the Chapel of St Wenceslas, dating from 1674, at its centre. At the end of the 19th century, Dolany was known for its “Dolany plums”, and the Spolek dolanská švestka association is active there today.
